5 CURRENCY REPRESENTATION

Currency values expressed in Estonian currency are presented as follows:

  1. The abbreviation for Estonian crown is kr.

  2. The international abbreviation for the Estonian crown according to ISO 4217 is EEK. The abbreviation in fact consists of 4 characters, including the space between the international abbreviation "EEK" and the amount.
    Example: EEK 123 (123 crowns).

  3. The integer part and fraction of crowns are separated by a comma.

  4. The integer part of the amount is grouped from the right in 3-digit groups, which are separated by spaces. Amounts less than 10 000 can be presented without grouping.

  5. Positive value is not marked.

  6. Negative value is marked by the minus character directly before the amount.

  7. The length of the fraction equals 2.

  8. The currency unit abbreviation kr is placed after the amount separated from it by a space.

  9. The number of digits to represent amounts in Estonian crowns is not regulated.

  10. Rules for rounding off the amounts in cents:

    - the values KKK,S1 and KKK,S2 are rounded up to the value KKK,S0;
    - the values KKK,S3 to KKK,S7 are rounded up to the value KKK,S5;
    the values KKK,S8 and KKK,S9 are rounded up to the value KKK,(S+1)0.

    123,45 kr
    -123,45 kr
    12 345,60 kr
    EEK 123,45 (internationally)
